I bought some peony tulips and put them in a vase. They were pretty when they bloomed, but then they went a step beyond. I found the post-blooming version absolutely striking (maybe because we had a slow start to spring this year) and reached for my iPhone to capture them in all their overblown glory. I stripped the background away to better emphasize the blooms.
